Introducing ELIK TARA GROUP
A musical family first and foremost
ELIK TARA GROUP is not just a group, it is first and foremost a story of encounters, roots and connections.
We come from different paths, but we share the same conviction: music can bring people together, console them, awaken them, and give them renewed energy.
On stage as in the studio, we work like a family.
There are voices, instruments, languages, but above all, hearts that try to remain true, even when words fail.
Languages as bridges
Our music travels between several languages: French, Ewondo, Yoruba, Haitian Creole, English, Spanish… and more to come.
Each language opens a different door:
Ewondo for the roots, French for everyday stories, Creole and Yoruba for resistance and spirituality, English and Spanish to engage with a wider world.
We do not use these languages as decoration, but as real bridges.
They connect us to our ancestors, to our countries of origin, to friends met along the way, and to you who are listening, wherever you are.
Music that speaks of reality
Our songs are made of everyday life, of quiet but deep faith, of laughter, of hurt, of fatigue, of changing seasons.
They are speaking:
• Couples who stand the test of time and are no longer “the same as before”
• mornings that no longer have the same rhythm
• Bodies that grow weary, but hearts that hold firm
• joy that sometimes returns unexpectedly, in the midst of all this
We are not trying to be perfect or to give lessons.
We simply seek to tell the truth, with gentleness, humor and lucidity.
Concerts experienced as encounters
In the past, there have been some very beautiful concerts.
Evenings when the audience sang louder than us, when languages mingled in the same room, when tears and laughter coexisted without disturbing each other.
For now, we are more in the creative season: writing, composing, producing.
But every song we work on today is designed for real life, for the moment when we will share it again with faces in front of us.
What we want to offer
With ELIK TARA GROUP, we hope to offer:
• Songs that reflect who you are, even if we don’t know you yet
• words for those moments when you can’t find any more
• bringing light to the somewhat grey areas of life
• A space where your own languages, your own stories, feel at home
If you identify with multiple cultures, multiple roots, multiple languages, you are at home here.
And if you only have one but your heart is curious about others, you are just as welcome.
Our desire is simple:
that, somewhere between a note, a phrase or a silence, you feel less alone.
